Job summary

ISC Constructors, L.L.C. is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator in Baton Rouge to develop accurate and competitive estimates for electrical and instrumentation construction opportunities.

You will review drawings, specifications, and contract documents, perform quantity takeoffs, price labor and materials, and support bid reviews and proposal development. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel/Word, and the ability to use estimating software.

Qualifications

• Experience or education related to construction, electrical/instrumentation, engineering, estimating, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of electrical and/or instrumentation construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to learn and effectively use construction estimating and takeoff software.
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents to understand project requirements.

• Prepare and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Support bid reviews, estimate development, proposals, and scope evaluations.
• Prepare estimates for electrical systems including power, controls, grounding, lighting, cabling, and instrumentation.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, project risks, and opportunities that may affect pricing.
• Support proposal development and estimate handoff to project teams.
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation and participate in continuous improvement of estimating processes.

THE POSITION

ISC is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator to develop accurate and competitive estimates for electrical and instrumentation construction opportunities.

This position supports the full estimating process, including drawing and specification review, quantity takeoffs, labor and material pricing, vendor and subcontractor quotes, bid reviews, proposals, and scope evaluation. These responsibilities align closely with current estimator and preconstruction roles, where takeoffs, pricing, scope review, bid proposals, and estimate development are core functions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience or education related to construction, electrical/instrumentation, engineering, estimating, or a related field.

• Ability to pass applicable post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and background checks.
