Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a preconstruction professional to support prefabrication-focused activities, including design review, cost evaluations, and constructability assessments, coordinating with design and production teams in a dynamic project environment.

You will assist with quantity takeoffs, basic cost studies, and data collection for prefab estimating, benchmarking, and ensuring alignment of scope, budget, and schedule across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
• 3–6 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, engineering, or related construction or prefabrication roles required
• Strong communication, listening, and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to create and support team morale
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, models, and fabrication inputs to identify scope gaps and design inconsistencies
• Coordinate with design, VDC, MEP, FoC engineering, and production teams to align scope, budget, and schedule
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, basic cost studies, and data collection for prefab estimating and benchmarking
• Support development and maintenance of prefab cost estimates covering quantities, labor, materials, logistics, and vendor information
• Prepare portions of preconstruction deliverables, including feasibility inputs, cost summaries, and logistics comparisons of prefabricated and field-built approaches
• Assist in reviewing proposals for prefabricated assemblies and systems for scope comparisons and bid tabulations
