Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented estimator to perform quantity surveys by analyzing blueprints and technical documents to prepare accurate estimates. You will assist in compiling data for bid proposals and coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and suppliers to clarify project requirements.

The role requires strong mathematical and analytical abilities, proficiency with spreadsheets, and experience with estimating software.

Qualifications

• Education in a technical field and experience reading plans with a strong mathematical and computer skills background through work experience or education.
• Prior Surveying or Estimating experience is a plus.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities are essential for performing accurate calculations.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software is a must, and experience with specific estimating or project management software is valuable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting estimates to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity surveys, or Takeoffs, by analyzing blueprints, maps, and other technical documents to compile estimates.
• Assist in preparing and compiling data for bid proposals, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and suppliers to clarify project requirements.
• Use industry-standard software, including estimating programs, spreadsheets (like Microsoft Excel) and Blue Beam.
