Job summary

County Materials Family of Companies seeks a Preconstruction Engineer to support projects from concept through design and early construction. You will provide technical input, evaluate constructability, and help identify cost-saving solutions while minimizing delays.

The role requires strong knowledge of prestressed/precast systems, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and experience with AutoCAD/Revit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in prestressed/precast design or preconstruction engineering.
• Strong understanding of prestressed/precast design principles, manufacturing processes, and applicable industry standards.
• Experience with building codes, regulations, and safety standards; familiarity with podiums, walls, and parking garages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define scope, objectives, schedules, and timelines.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure budgets, coordination, and alignment with project objectives.
• Analyze designs for feasibility, cost effectiveness, constructability, and value engineering.
• Review construction documents to ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and client specs.
• Identify design challenges and propose practical, innovative solutions.
• Develop and maintain project budgets and identify cost-saving measures.
• Coordinate with internal teams on procurement, transportation, delivery, and installation timelines.
• Identify and address design/production coordination issues to maintain schedules.
• Serve as primary contact for prestressed/precast inquiries during preconstruction.
• Communicate project status, milestones, costs, and proposed solutions through updates and meetings.
