Job summary

CAMP Facility Services, LLC is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to own budgets and buyout for all Operations projects in the Austin market. You will bridge sold work to buildable budgets, lead bid comparisons, and guide PMs on cost discipline.

The role focuses on preventing cost exposure, maximizing margins, and ensuring rigorous preconstruction processes across projects. A strong background in construction budgeting and subcontract negotiation is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction preconstruction, estimating, or project management.
• Experience with competitive subcontractor buyout and subcontract negotiation.
• Ability to read, develop, and manage detailed budgets and cost sheets.
• Strong analytical, financial discipline, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the working budget for every Operations project at handoff from Sales and Estimating.
• Reconcile the sold estimate to the execution budget and identify scope gaps, contingencies, allowances, and other cost exposures.
• Lead competitive buyout for all Operations projects; solicit multiple bids.
• Issue complete subcontracts and purchase orders before subcontractors mobilize; ensure defined scope, schedule, pricing, and terms.
• Maintain visibility of committed costs and validate invoices against funded commitments.
• Provide preconstruction support to Sales, Estimating, and Operations; coach PMs on budget discipline.
• Develop project schedules that align procurement, subcontractor, and field execution.
