Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Shared Resources Specialist to support preclinical imaging across multiple modalities, including ultrasound, MRI, bioluminescent and florescence imagers. This is a 6-month onsite role at the South Lake Union campus.

The incumbent will train users, develop SOPs, manage equipment and inventory, and collaborate with faculty and external users to deliver high-quality data while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree field of education: Science, engineering, zoology, or related field; Or
• Associate degree and 1+ years of preclinical imaging experience; Or
• GED/ High School Diploma and 3+ years of preclinical imaging experience
• Master’s degree in biology, science, engineering, zoology, or related field; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, science, engineering, zoology, or related field and 2 years of relevant scientific experience; OR
• Associate degree and 5 years of relevant scientific experience; OR
• GED/High School Diploma and 7 years of relevant scientific experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging studies across modalities including image acquisition and data analysis.
• Prepare animals for imaging and manage anesthesia and monitoring.
• Coordinate transportation of animals for imaging research.
• Maintain imaging equipment and software; oversee inventory.
• Develop SOPs and train investigators on imaging equipment.
• Assist with regulatory IACUC protocols and ensure protocol compliance.
