Job summary

Out of the Woods, located in Layton, Utah, is a woodworking and cabinetry company built on craftsmanship, quality, and pride in doing things right. We are seeking a Door Builder to join our Cabinet Shop team to craft cabinet doors and drawer fronts.

The role involves operating woodworking machinery, reading blueprints, and maintaining high-quality work. Earn $17.00–$21.00 per hour DOE with benefits including health coverage, Simple IRA, life insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of experience in manufacturing, woodworking or similar shop environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn encouraged to apply.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and measurements.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
• Basic knowledge of woodworking tools, equipment, and shop practices preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to cross-train and learn additional shop processes.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Build cabinet doors and drawer fronts according to specifications and quality standards.
• Set up and operate woodworking machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete production tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
• Follow all quality control standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns to management promptly.
• Assist the assembly team with production needs during slower periods.
• Support the team with additional shop duties as assigned.
