Job summary

Dowding Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled welder to perform welding and cutting with gas and electric welding equipment in a manufacturing setting in Michigan.

The role focuses on fabricating, repairing, assembling, and finishing metal parts for multiple sectors and requires strong attention to safety and accuracy. Ideal candidates will have MIG welding experience, may have TIG welding, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment with physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of MIG welding experience.
• TIG welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job; plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals; repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded; sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
• Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
