Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a skilled Welder to read blueprints, set up and weld using various techniques across metals, including aluminum. You will ensure quality, train others, and uphold safety and QA standards in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have 5–7 years of welding experience, strong precision, and the ability to work independently while meeting production schedules and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 5–7 years minimum welding experience.
• Proven aluminum and metal welding experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals and quality procedures.
• Read blueprints and interpret documents; perform shop math.
• Can identify and measure material with calipers and tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Cut workpieces using powered saws and manual tools.
• Prepare, lay out, position and secure parts per specs.
• Execute high-quality welds with precision.
• Apply welding techniques across metals (Carbon Steel, Stainless, Monel, Aluminum, Cu/Ni).
• Use tools and machines to complete tasks; maintain equipment.
• Perform quality checks and adhere to QA procedures and policies.
• Document and report issues to supervisor.
• Train others and maintain a safe work environment.
