Job summary

Senior Flexonics in Bartlett, IL seeks a Welder I to perform skilled welding and fabrication on exotic metals and new alloys, including thin-wall materials for full-penetration welds.

You will read drawings, apply welding procedures, train junior welders, and support production with overtime as needed. The role emphasizes quality, purge welding, and nondestructive inspection readiness.

Base pay is $32.94/hour with a $1.00/hour second-shift premium, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a professional welding position is required.
• Ability to purge welds for full penetration and prevent burn-through.
• Knowledge of drawings, welding specifications, and properties of exotic metals and new alloys.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Fuses metal parts including exotic metals using electric welding equipment.
• Welds to meet nondestructive inspection standards (radiography, fluorescent penetrant, purging).
• Performs all welds in various positions by heliarc and MMA processes.
• Assists in developing new welding/joining techniques.
• Sets up and lays out assemblies up to complex multi-plane structures.
• Trains lower-grade welders on processes and techniques.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
