Job summary

Messer Cutting Systems is seeking a Welder/Fabricator and CNC Plasma Operator to support production needs. You will fabricate weldments from drawings, operate CNC plasma cutting equipment, and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read prints and understand GDT Symbols.
• Ability to use layout and inspection tools.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Welding certificate is a plus.
• 2+ years MIG welding experience; CNC Cutting (Laser, Plasma or OxyFuel) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Nest and set up CNC plasma cutting operations and prepare materials.
• Set up, adjust, operate and maintain CNC cutting machine using oxyfuel and plasma processes.
• Perform welding on weldments with multiple parts to meet quality specs.
• Fit and position parts, clamp or tack-weld, adjust components to specifications.
• Check dimensions during welding and take corrective actions as needed.
• Create welding fixtures to enable repetitive production welding.
• Cut, grind, finish and weld components for proper unit fitment.
• Use hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, welders, torches, clamps, jigs, fixtures.
• Maintain safe equipment operation and clean work area.
• Work from drawings, blueprints, layouts and orders; follow specs.
