Job summary

Jones Metal, Inc. is seeking a Welder for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 4:25PM–2:55AM) with a 5% shift differential in Mankato, Minnesota. The role requires reading blueprints, welding with MIG/TIG, and performing quality inspections.

You will inspect and measure parts, maintain safe work practices, and keep the work area organized. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and welding experience or certification; proficiency with hand tools and measuring devices is expected, along with good

Qualifications

• Must pass internal math assessment and weld test.
• Ability to use hand tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of welding equipment, wire/filler materials, and maintenance.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and safety rules.
• Strong time management to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts following blue prints and layouts using jigs and hand tools.
• Inspect parts for defects and measure for conformance with specs.
• Weld components in flat and vertical positions using MIG and TIG.
• Operate safety equipment and maintain safe work habits.
• Select torch tips and fillers per welding chart specs.
• Perform quality inspections within the welding department.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly.
