Job summary

The Point Surf Park is seeking a Wave Operator to safely and accurately deliver surf sessions for our guests in Fellsmere, Florida. As a safety-sensitive role, you will operate the wave-generation system, follow established programs, and coordinate with Lifeguards, Water Patrol, Operations, Maintenance, and Surf Instruction to ensure every session is delivered safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Must have high attention to detail and sustained focus.

• Basic computer, touchscreen, control-system, radio, and electronic-log skills, or the ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to follow approved procedures exactly.
• Sound judgment and willingness to pause or stop rather than guess.

• Prior experience in control-room operations, attractions, aquatics, industrial or technical operations preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required system, safety, or operational credentials.

Responsibilities

• Operate the wave-generation system only after completing required training and authorization.
• Review session schedules, approved wave programs, participant levels, and safety conditions before operation.
• Complete startup, system-readiness, communication, and control-area checks.
• Select and run only approved wave settings and programs.
• Verify system entries before activation and never modify settings outside assigned authority.
• Continuously monitor control screens, alarms, system status, and session timing.
• Start, pause, resume, or stop wave production according to procedures and conditions.
• Immediately stop or pause operations if safety concerns arise.
• Maintain clear communication with Lifeguards, Water Patrol, Operations, Surf Instruction, and Maintenance.
• Document wave settings, operating times, interruptions, alarms, incidents, and adjustments.
