Job summary

Skilled-Craftsmen-of-Texas is seeking an experienced Abrasive Waterjet CNC Machinist to interpret CAD/CAM files (.DXF/.DWG) and nest parts for minimal scrap. You'll calibrate waterjet pressure, select garnet and consumables, and verify dimensions with calipers and micrometers to tight tolerances.

You'll load materials with cranes or forklift, run first articles, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine PM while maintaining OSHA-compliant workspace. Prior waterjet experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC operation experience; waterjet background preferred.
• Able to read/interpret blueprints and manufacturing orders.
• Solid shop math and geometry knowledge.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing long periods.
• Forklift/overhead crane certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC waterjet cutting equipment.
• Import, translate, and nest CAD/CAM files to maximize yield.
• Load/unload plates with cranes or forklifts and verify dimensions.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections with calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust process to maintain cut quality and troubleshoot issues.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance and keep area OSHA-compliant.
