Job summary

Sulzer in Easley, SC is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and monitor machinery in the manufacturing process. The role ensures machines run efficiently, parts meet quality standards, and safety protocols are followed.

You will read blueprints, set up tools, and perform precision metal cutting and fitting with close supervision as needed. A high school diploma and 3+ years in a machine shop are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years in a machine shop operating conventional tools (lathe, milling, boring, drills).
• Ability to read and interpret standard and metric drawings and blueprints with basic math.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates conventional machine tools under limited supervision.
• Plans sequence of work, mounting, leveling, holding and fastening parts.
• Interprets blueprints and written orders, and lays out work to requirements.
• Works within close tolerances and performs bench work to finish parts.
• Follows ISO 9001 procedures and maintains a safe workstation.
