Job summary

Smartsearchonline in Torrance, CA is seeking a dependable Machine Operator to join the Cut & Mark production team. This contract-to-hire role requires operating plastic tubing cutting and marking equipment to meet customer specifications and ensure quality standards.

The successful candidate will read job specs, set up machines, perform measurements with rulers/calipers, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM with a pay rate of $23.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Read and follow job specifications, work instructions, purchase orders, and drawings.
• Read and understand written instructions and basic drawings.
• Comfortable performing basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals).
• Ability to use a ruler, scale, and dial calipers.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Dependable and able to work with others.
• Safety-conscious and comfortable around moving mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow job specifications, work instructions, purchase orders, and drawings
• Set up machines and jobs according to drawings and production requirements
• Operate plastic tube cutting and marking equipment
• Perform type setting and machine adjustments
• Measure materials and finished parts using rulers, scales, and calipers
• Position materials and workpieces correctly in fixtures or against machine guides
• Continuously inspect finished products for accuracy, positioning, quality
• Perform basic machine setup and routine maintenance, including oiling machines and dies
• Use computers to enter timekeeping information
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow established safety procedures at all times
