Job summary

PTMW in Manhattan, KS is seeking a Tube Laser Operator to run our tube laser cutting system and related material-handling equipment at our Manhattan facility. You will ensure accurate, efficient processing of structural steel to meet schedules and quality standards.

You will load/unload with overhead cranes and forklifts, read fabrication drawings, perform basic maintenance, and log production data while collaborating with teammates and quality inspectors to achieve goals.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years operating CNC machinery or similar automated fabrication equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and maintenance skills.
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the tube laser for precise cuts, holes, and marks on structural steel.
• Load/unload materials using overhead cranes, forklifts and other equipment.
• Interpret drawings and work orders to ensure correct processing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
• Log production data and equipment checks as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
• Collaborate with team members and inspectors to meet production goals.
