Job summary

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC in Palm Bay, FL is seeking an experienced Truss Designer to join our growing team.

You will create floor and roof truss placement plans, design drawings and quotes, and provide technical support to customers and sales staff on truss components for residential and commercial projects. You will work with proprietary design software, review peers' work for accuracy, and communicate clearly with customers, contractors, and architects to ensure feasible, code-compliant designs

Qualifications

Proficiency with drafting, architectural design or CAD applications.
Strong attention to detail and use of discretion.
Mathematics and measurement skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

Produce floor and roof truss placement plans, design drawings and quotes using proprietary software.
Determine design specifications based on blueprints and structural needs.
Review other designers' work to reduce errors before manufacturing.
Create shop paperwork optimized for manufacturing efficiency.
Communicate with customers, general contractors and sales staff on technical aspects of plans.
Plan and pace work to meet daily, weekly, project, or team productivity goals.
Observe safety procedures and participate in periodic safety meetings.
