Responsibilities

• Follow all established safety, health and Company policies and practices.
• Perform assignments ranging from ordinary tool room operations to work with very close tolerances.
• Plan construction procedures and methods including materials, dimensions, layout, machining, and assembly operations.
• Identify and correct problems in complicated dies and tooling.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, micrometers and loupes.
• Set up and operate machine tools (lathe, vertical milling, surface and jig grinders) to tolerances of within .0002 and verify conformance.
• Heat treat various tool steels to required hardness.
• Evaluate need for modifications or replacements of tools or dies.
• Calculate punch and die clearances and tooling dimensions.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards.
• All other duties as assigned by manager.
