Job summary

AISIN North Carolina Corporation is seeking a Tool/Gear Regrind Technician to support manufacturing by regrinding drills, end mills, gears and related tools. The role requires reading blueprints, operating multiple grinders, and ensuring gear and tool accuracy to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include machine setup, calibration, quality inspection, collaboration with other departments, and occasional overtime to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of material (tool and gear), processes, quality control, and other standards and techniques for maximum quality and availability.
• Mechanical: general knowledge of machines and tools.
• Math skills: basic mathematics and ability to understand work instructions.
• Coordination: ability to manage multiple tasks and interact with others.
• Critical thinking: ability to evaluate problems and chosen solutions.

Responsibilities

• Understand gear cutting processes, tool regrind processes, wheel dressing processes, and gear and tool inspection.
• Regrind tools on multiple grinders and other equipment listed.
• Set up machines, confirm tooling, and program parts for quality.
• Perform machine checks and calibration per schedule.
• Inspect part quality per Work Instruction and adjust as needed.
• Interpret blueprints for gear and tooling.
• Assist Tool Preset Room to ensure part quality and minimize downtime.
• Work with related departments to prevent machine downtime and maintain accuracy.
• Precision grinding of tools with tight tolerances as small as 10 microns.
• Inspect reground tools with microscopes and gear measurement machines.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment per guidelines.
• Create gear and tools to support production.
• Maintain quality and target availability goals.
• Ensure machines are set up to run efficiently.
• Work well in a team and independently.
• Available for overtime if needed.
