Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to join the Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. You will provide production support through tool and die making activities, including precision grinding, milling, and assembling dies, punches, and fixtures.

Read blueprints, set up CNC and manual machines, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety compliance with OSHA and company policies. Experience with CNC tooling and reading blueprints is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Tool and Die Journeyperson certification (CT); other states considered.
• Experience with turning, milling, drilling, grinding to precision tolerances.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and using precision measurement devices.
• Troubleshooting and repairing production tools.
• Excellent math, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read schematics and specifications.
• Understanding of Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Lean concepts.
• Must know how to use all applicable tools and measuring devices.
• Must maintain current licensing or certification for assigned tasks.
• Follow OSHA and Company safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision grinding, milling, polishing and other machining operations to make or repair tool components.
• Fabricate and maintain dies, punches, forms, and other components in stamping and forming tools; components for and complete assemblies of jigs, fixtures, gauges and other applications.
• Assemble manufactured parts into working production tooling, fixtures, etc.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications and verbal instructions.
• Set up and operate machine tools and hand tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair production tools.
• Make own setups on CNC equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures.
