Job summary

Precision Castparts in Groton, CT seeks an experienced machinist to lay out, set up, and operate machine tools to fabricate and repair metalworking dies and tooling. The role requires reading blueprints, close tolerance work, and CAD/CAM awareness. OT opportunities and quarterly incentives are available.

The incumbent will validate dimensions, assemble components, and supervise tooling programs as needed, contributing to continuous process improvements and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• Trade school experience in machine trades or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional or CNC machines to shape parts to specified dimensions.
• Verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Inspect dies for defects and ensure conformance to specs.
• Assemble tools and dies, perform test runs, and make adjustments as needed.
• Develop tooling designs and improve production processes.
