Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking an experienced Machinist in Connecticut to analyze specifications and operate machine tools for fabricating and repairing dies, tools, and fixtures. This role requires knowledge of CAD/CAM programs and the ability to maintain production rates while ensuring quality.

Ideal candidates should have trade school experience or a sufficient combination of work experience, as well as problem-solving skills in tooling design. The position involves working under the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machinist with close tolerance machining.
• Ability to maintain production rates and manage rework and scrap.
• Capacity to train others in machining techniques.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines and other manual machine tools.
• Inspect finished products for compliance with specifications.
• Develop and design new tools and dies using CAD software.

Skills

Ability to read blueprints

Trade school experience in machine trades

Problem-solving skills in tooling design

Understanding of tooling automation methods
