Job summary

John Deere Cylinder Works in Moline, IL is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to plan, lay out, and construct high-precision tools, fixtures, dies, and gauges in a production environment emphasizing safety, quality, and teamwork.

Starting pay is $39.24 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and shift options based on seniority. Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, and/or a National Career Readiness Certificate, plus relevant experience and journeyperson status in Tool & Die Making.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or G.E.D. or NCRC.
• At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
• Journeyperson's card in Tool & Die Making or at least 8 years of Tool & Die Making experience.
• Experience laying out and fabricating parts.
• Experience utilizing precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to perform manual tasks including standing, walking, bending and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
• Work from tool and product design prints and plan sequence of operation.
• Perform lay out work using advanced mathematical procedures.
• Make setups and devise special attachments for performance of job.
• Check and adjust inspection equipment using master gauge blocks.
• Repair tools, fixtures, jigs, dies, or gauges.
• Use precision measuring instruments and other hand/power tools.
• Assist and support team members with minimal supervision.
• Clean work area and perform other duties inherent to the job.
• Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority).
