Job summary

Mestek is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker to operate and maintain a range of machinery including drill presses, grinders, lathes, and milling machines. You will read prints and specs, select and sharpen tools, and ensure parts meet quality standards.

The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs, precise measurement, and adherence to safety procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining dies and tooling inventories, performing repairs, and working from established procedures and requests.

Qualifications

• High School or Trade School graduate; certification preferred for Tool and Die Maker.
• Ability to read and write in English and follow written work orders.
• Ability to read a measuring tape and interpret specifications.
• Ability to lift 75 to 100 pounds occasionally and perform repetitive bending, reaching, lifting and twisting.
• Excellent manual dexterity with measuring and inspection of material per prints and specs.

Responsibilities

• Works from prints, specifications, charts, formulae, drawings, sketches, and orders.
• Uses precision measuring instruments and a wide variety of hand tools.
• Sets up and operates machines such as drill presses, grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
• Selects, adjusts, changes, replaces and sharpens tools and fixtures.
• Maintains inventory of commonly used parts, tools, and materials and informs supervisor of low inventories.
