Job summary

LOOS & CO., INC. is seeking a Tool & Die Machinist to support production by fabricating, repairing, and maintaining tooling, dies, fixtures, and precision components for Cableware and Cabletech supports.

You will read blueprints, select machining methods, and ensure part tolerances meet engineering specifications. The role requires operating manual mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in machining, tool and die work, or related skilled trade preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting speeds, feeds, tooling, materials, and measurement.
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
  • Strong mathematical skills and precision measurement with micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, saws, and other shop equipment.
  • Manufacture, modify, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, fixtures, gauges, and precision components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Measure and inspect parts with precision instruments.
  • Maintain tooling and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
