Job summary

Vertiv in the United States is hiring a Mechanical Technician – Switchgear to assemble metal enclosures and subassemblies per engineering drawings. You will install doors, panels, brackets and ensure precise alignment using hand and power tools.

This role requires accuracy, adherence to safety guidelines, and documentation of production records in a fast-paced environment. The position offers first- and second-shift options with a focus on quality and reliability for global customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Comfort with hand and power tools and basic shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently or in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal enclosures, frames, and subassemblies per drawings.
• Install mechanical hardware such as doors, panels, and brackets.
• Use calipers and rulers to ensure proper alignment and fit.
• Drill holes, tap threads, and modify components as needed.
• Inspect assemblies for accuracy, fit, and finish; report defects.
• Complete production checklists and assembly records accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
