B- in Watertown, SD is seeking a Welder – Sub Welder to join our fabrication team. The role involves reading blueprints, selecting materials, and executing TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welds to create precise joints.

The position is non-exempt with a 10-hour shift, Monday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. Strong attention to detail, safety, and ability to lift up to 100 lbs are important for success.

Qualifikationen

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project.
• Source the materials to be used in that project.
• Must be accurate at measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
• Able to use the correct welding materials to join the metals together.
• Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.

Aufgaben

• Read and interpret blueprints before starting a project.
• Source materials required for the project.
• Measure and cut materials to exact specifications.
• Select and apply the appropriate welding processes to join metals.
• Monitor welding and related operations to prevent overheating or warping.
• Verify finished work against blueprint tolerances and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
