Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. in Cocoa, FL is seeking a Full-Time Structural Steel Fitter for 2nd shift to join our team. You will layout, position, align, and fit fabricated parts according to blueprints, while safely operating overhead cranes and cutting/heating torches.

You will perform heat corrections and verify camber/sweep tolerances, making necessary adjustments to meet codes and customer expectations. You will also set up complex jigs, identify hazards, interpret documents, and perform daily cleaning

Qualifications

• Superior level layout and math skills required.
• Complete understanding of pre-heat functions.
• Ability to set up and use track torch.
• Must pass all tack tests for F.A.C.W. welding.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align and fit fabricated parts per blueprints.
• Operate overhead cranes and use cutting/heating torches safely.
• Perform heat corrections and check camber and sweep tolerances; make corrections per specs.
• Set up complex jigs or assemblies and interpret complex documents.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety procedures.
