Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. in Cocoa, FL is seeking a Full-Time Structural Steel Fitter on 2nd shift to assemble and fit fabricated parts from blueprints. You will lay out, position, align, and weld-ready joints while following safety procedures and quality standards.

You will operate overhead cranes and torch equipment, check tolerances, perform heat corrections, and set up complex jigs. Strong math skills, pre-heat knowledge, track torch use, and passing TAC tests for FAC-W welding are required.

Qualifications

• Superior layout and math skills for accurate positioning.
• Understanding of pre-heat functions and track torch operation.
• Must pass tack tests for F.A.C.W. (Flux Core) welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and layout specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and fit fabricated parts per blueprint.

• Perform heat corrections and check camber and sweep tolerances.
• Identify hazards and maintain clean, organized work area.
• Ensure finished products meet codes and customer specs.
