Steel Specialty Inc. is seeking a skilled Miscellaneous Steel Fabricator to join our fabrication team in Belmont, NC.

You will read shop drawings, lay out materials, fit, and fabricate a wide variety of miscellaneous steel products while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship. Essential responsibilities include reading and interpreting structural and miscellaneous steel shop drawings, layout and fabrication, and coordinating with shop personnel to meet production

Qualifications

• Must read structural and miscellaneous steel drawings.
• Able to layout, fit and fabricate varied steel assemblies.
• Maintain high quality and safety standards during fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural and miscellaneous steel shop drawings.
• Layout, fit, and fabricate miscellaneous steel assemblies.
• Fabricate stairs, rails, ladders, roof frames, dumpster gates, and other products.
• Perform fit-up prior to welding.
• Verify dimensions and maintain quality throughout fabrication.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Coordinate with supervisors and shop personnel to meet production schedules.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and communicate issues before fabrication.
• Assist with loading/unloading fabricated materials as needed.
