Job summary

Big Top Manufacturing in Perry, FL, is seeking a Steel Fabrication Operator to join our fabricating team. You will read sketches, verify tube sizes, mark tubing, and follow production instructions to ensure parts are produced on time and to spec.

This role requires good math, attention to detail, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Overtime may be required. After 60 days, health, dental and vision coverage are provided, along with a 401(k) plan and vacation benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year work history or military service with honorable discharge preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all parts are produced on time and are of good quality.
• Read and verify complex sketches prior to producing parts. Check pieces in process against sketches.
• Verify the tube size matches the sketch before running.
• Measure and accurately mark tubing for production.
• Accurately count number of pieces ran.
• Minimize material waste.
• Responsible for care and preventive maintenance of the equipment in use.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report violations, accidents and near misses to supervisor.
• Assist in the training of new personnel on safety, production, and quality standards and procedures.
• Follow instructions given by supervisor.
• Responsible for housekeeping in your area and the entire facility
• Other duties as assigned.
