Job summary

Mettler Toledo is seeking an experienced fabricator/welder to read blueprints, interpret engineering drawings, and fabricate parts to precise specifications. The role requires TIG welding skills, use of measurement tools in both metric and imperial units, and strict adherence to quality processes.

Responsibilities include laying out parts, managing drawings in ERP, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring parts are accurately produced and documented.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding certificate or hands-on experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand weld symbols.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and engineered drawings.
• Ability to prioritize and solve problems.
• Ability to use hand grinders and air tools; basic polishing techniques.
• ERP system experience (SAP preferred).
• Basic Lean Manufacturing understanding.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work with imperial and metric measurements.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and weld metal parts and structures.
• Read designers' blueprints and engineers' drawings.
• Use software to retrieve and manage technical drawings.
• Weld doors, covers, and small machine components with 12-gauge sheet metal and thicker.
• Follow standard work procedures to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Operate band saws, drill presses, and iron workers to shape components as needed.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Record labor estimates on production orders.
