Thompson Pipe Group in Grand Prairie, TX is hiring a Welder II who specializes in repairing and validating spirally welded cylinders. The role focuses on inspecting welds and dimensions, performing air carbon arc gouging, and executing flux-core weld repairs to meet specs.

You'll work 1st or 2nd shift with weekends as needed, operate MIG/TIG/STICK and flux-core welders, read blueprints, and maintain welding gear on an active production site with cranes and heavy equipment.

Qualifikationen

• . Air carbon arc gouging proficiency is required.
• .
• Pass a 3G test with back gouge and back weld using the FCAW process.
• Weld to ASME Section VIII UW-51 acceptance criteria and sustain a 92% acceptance rate.
• Experience with flux-core welding; SMAW and SAW experience is a plus.
• Comfort reading blueprints and setting up production welding.
• Able to follow instructions delivered in written and verbal formats.

Aufgaben

• Inspect the interior and exterior of spiral-weld cylinders for weld and base-metal discontinuities and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform repairs and document dimensions to 1/32 inch.
• Operate and maintain welding gear; keep station organized and hazard-free.
• Work under supervision and report to crew leader or supervisor.
• Set up and perform production welding on site.
