Responsibilities

  • Specimen processing: Receiving, identifying, labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing specimens for testing or transport while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Data management: Entering patient and specimen information into LIS and required software.
  • Quality & compliance: Following lab procedures, safety standards, HIPAA requirements, and regulatory guidelines with QA records and logs.
  • Laboratory support: Inventory management, stocking supplies, sanitizing work areas, filing, answering phones, and routine non-technical duties.
  • Problem solving: Identifying quality, labeling, or order discrepancies and resolving or escalating issues for timely testing.
  • Team collaboration: Working with lab staff to support workflow, training, and a positive team culture.
  • Reliability: Maintaining punctual attendance to support operations and patient/client service.
