Job summary

Labcorp's PAML in Spokane, WA is hiring a Specimen Processor to join a fast-paced, high-throughput lab team. You will accession, sort and data-enter specimens, ensure accurate demographics and prepare samples for testing.

The role requires a high school diploma, data-entry experience, and ability to lift up to 30 lbs; overtime may be required. Competitive pay and benefits with second-shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Proficient computer and typing skills.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples.
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs, sit/stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and prepare biological specimens for analysis.
• Open specimens and prepare for testing.
• Verify patient demographics match requisition.
• Data entry of patient information into the system.
• Meet production metrics and quality measures.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Pack and ship specimens when required.
• Prepare and store excess specimens.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
• Handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste.
• Operate automated instrumentation under supervision.
