Job summary

Elmet Technologies is seeking a Machine Operator, Seco Slitter, 3rd Shift at our Euclid, Ohio facility to set up and operate slitting, shearing, and leveling equipment to produce finished orders and in-process material.

You will read orders, calculate setups, verify dimensions with micrometers, monitor quality, and maintain safety and 6S standards while supporting adjacent production processes. Prior sheet metal manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing or industrial production experience preferred.
• Strong basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
• Experience using micrometers or other precision measuring tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with industrial equipment.
• Ability to perform accurate calculations for setup and close-tolerance work.
• Strong attention to detail and product quality.
• Ability to follow work orders, specifications, and procedures.
• Commitment to safe work practices and proper equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up the slitter to required dimensions using measurements and conversion calculations.
• Operate slitting equipment to process material according to order specifications.
• Coil or stack processed material and move it to the next operation.
• Set up and operate equipment to level finished orders and in-process material.
• Shear material according to customer and production specifications.
• Plan order cuts to maximize material efficiency.
• Check material gauge and surface condition before processing.
• Visually inspect finished work and verify quality standards.
• Use micrometers and other measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Maintain accurate production records and material information.
• Perform equipment setups requiring accurate calculations for close-tolerance output.
• Operate lift and material-handling equipment safely.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Coordinate with maintenance when tooling needs repair or replacement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area (6S).
• Support other production activities as needed.
