Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. in Newbern, TN is seeking a production associate for a 1st shift role in meat processing. You will learn to maintain sharp tools and perform precision carcass cuts to support yield and safety standards.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety and food safety policies. Training may last 2–3 months, with opportunities to contribute to a clean, compliant production area.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must complete work cycles efficiently and safely.
• Must work around machinery and chemicals.
• Must maintain clean work area at end of shift.
• Must perform physical tasks for long periods on concrete floors.
• Must work in temperatures at or below 35°F for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment.
• Must complete production cycles rapidly.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to maintain sharp tools to perform tasks correctly.
• Make precision cuts to carcass to achieve desired yield.
• Operate a powered tool to perform job tasks.
• Set up area with needed equipment and monitor for debris.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Lead, Supervisor or Superintendent.
