Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a production team member for the 1st shift at our Newbern, TN facility. You will learn to maintain sharp tools, perform precise carcass cuts to achieve desired yield, and operate a powered tool as part of daily tasks.

Training time is 2–3 months with a strong emphasis on safety and food safety policies. Responsibilities include setting up the work area, monitoring for debris, and completing other tasks as directed by supervisors while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to complete work cycles in under 20 seconds.
• Work around machinery and chemicals.
• Must clean up area at end of production shift.
• Stand for 8 hours on concrete floors.
• Able to work in temperatures at or below 35°F.
• Prefer 6+ months of machine operator/production experience.
• This location does not accept rehires.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to maintain sharp tools to perform job tasks.
• Make precision cuts to carcass for correct yield and to remove hide as needed.
• Set up area with all required equipment.
• Monitor production area for debris on the floor.
• Perform tasks as assigned by Lead, Supervisor or Superintendent.
