Job summary

NMC Cat in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Shop Technician to perform maintenance, diagnosis and service repairs in our shop on all Caterpillar products serviced by NMC. You will reference service manuals and diagnostic tools, prepare work orders and quotes, and ensure safety and accuracy in every task.

The role focuses on repairs, maintenance, and service efficiency, with opportunities for training and growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance, diagnosis and repair on heavy equipment.
• Ability to read service manuals and use diagnostic tools.
• Commitment to safety policies and proper tool maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, diagnoses, troubleshoots, services and repairs customer machines in a shop environment.
• Prepares work orders, warranty information and SIMS reports; documents expenses and purchase orders.
• Follows safety policies; maintains tools and cleanliness in accordance with MSHA/OSHA/NMC standards.
• Attends safety meetings and participates in training to stay current with equipment.
• Performs planned maintenance inspections and cost estimates for quotes.
• Assists in loading/unloading/cleaning equipment as needed.
