Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a Shop Technician in Springfield, MO to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support service operations. You will use laptop diagnostics and a range of tools to troubleshoot engines, hydraulics, power trains, and electronics.

The role requires 2–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. MSHA certification or eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalent required; technical/trade schooling preferred.
• 2–5 years' experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (Caterpillar preferred).
• Experience using diagnostic laptops and measuring tools across electronics, hydraulics, and powertrain.
• Journeyman status preferred; MSHA certification or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose construction equipment repair needs and perform repairs as directed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Read manuals and orders; order parts as needed; ensure safety rules are followed.
