Job summary
Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing in DCC Hub is seeking a Shipping Specialist to coordinate outbound shipments in a fast-paced distribution center. You will ensure orders are accurate, processing bills of lading, and on-time deliveries while upholding safety and quality.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in shipping or logistics, leadership experience, forklift familiarity, and proficiency with ERP systems, inventory software, and MS Office.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of shipping/logistics experience.
- Leadership or lead-hand experience in manufacturing or distribution.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of freight carriers, shipping documents, and transportation processes.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory software and MS Office.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize outbound shipments and review schedules, safety requirements, and potential delays.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight providers, and internal teams to support on-time delivery.
- Verify packing slips, bills of lading, freight documents, and customer requirements.
- Pick, pack, label, stage, load, and process shipments accurately.
- Monitor workflow and communicate issues that could affect customer deliveries.
- Complete ERP and inventory transactions accurately and promptly.
- Support shipping procedures, inventory control, and KPIs.
