Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
• Compares information against bills of lading, invoices, or orders.
• Determines method of shipment and affixes shipping labels on cartons.
• Inserts items into containers and assembles containers.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operates lift truck or handtruck to move shipments to storage or work area.
• Unpacks shipments, records shortages, and corresponds with shippers to rectify damages.
• Routes items to departments and ensures outgoing shipments meet specifications.
