Job summary
The Gill Corporation-Maryland is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate to perform packaging, labeling, and hands-on material handling in a 1st shift role. You will prepare and process shipping documents, operate material handling equipment, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation for outgoing shipments.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma/GED, 1–3 years shipping/receiving experience, and forklift license if available; ERP/SAP experience is a plus, with strong English
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of prior shipping and receiving experience.
- Forklift operator's license desired.
- Experience with bill of lading, packing lists, and shipping paperwork helpful.
- ERP/SAP experience a PLUS!
- Strong reading, writing, and verbal English skills.
Responsibilities
- Pack orders efficiently using appropriate materials and labeling.
- Operate hand trucks, dollies, and forklift if trained/certified.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining shipping paperwork (schedules, packing slips, bills of lading).
- Maintain clean, organized shipping area and equipment.
- Train new/existing staff on packaging methods and customer requirements.
- Assemble containers/crates and apply labels with proper customer information.
- Support cross-training to meet department objectives.
- Monitor supplies and report low inventory to supervisor.
