Job summary

Tailwind Applied Sciences in Oklahoma City is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk responsible for accurate receipt, inspection, documentation, storage, and shipment of materials. This role collaborates with Purchasing, Inventory, Logistics, Vendors, and project teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

Responsibilities include receiving shipments, verifying quantities, inspecting for damage, entering transactions, labeling and storing items, recording serial numbers, and coordinating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn inventory software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments and verify quantities against orders and packing slips.
• Inspect materials for damage, shortages, overages, or incorrect items and report discrepancies.
• Enter receiving transactions accurately into company systems.
• Label, organize, and properly store received materials.
• Record serial numbers, model numbers, and other identifying information for serialized and high-value components.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory transfers.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations and identify damaged, excess, or unidentified materials.
• Prepare materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for shipment.
• Verify shipment contents against pick lists, work orders, or shipping requests.
• Properly package materials and prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and required documentation.
• Coordinate carrier pickups and track shipments as needed.
• Maintain accurate shipping and delivery records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and storage area.
• Ensure receiving, shipping, returns, and inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely.
• Maintain documentation supporting purchase orders, receipts, shipments, returns, and inventory transfers.
• Follow established inventory control processes and standard operating procedures.
