Job summary

APX is seeking a Saw Operator to accurately cut raw materials for custom sheet metal fabrication. You will interpret work orders, set up and operate saw equipment, and ensure cuts meet specifications and safety standards.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery. Training and PPE are provided in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Read work orders, cut lists, and simple blueprints.
• Basic math including fractions, decimals, and tape measure use.
• Ability to accurately use measuring devices: tape measures, calipers, squares, protractors.
• Commitment to safety and quality in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate saw equipment to cut raw materials per work orders and specs.
• Verify material type, thickness, grade, and dimensions before cutting.
• Measure and mark materials accurately with appropriate tools.
• Produce precise cuts meeting tolerances and quality standards.
• Label and stage finished materials for downstream processes.
