Job summary

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking a Precision Sheet Metal Programmer for the Hudson, NH area. The role focuses on transforming engineered designs into efficient programs and process plans, driving quality and productivity on 1st shift.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CNC programming experience, with strong knowledge of laser cutting, turret punching, and press brakes. The position offers full-time employment with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of CNC programming experience in a precision sheet metal environment.
  • Strong understanding of laser cutting, turret punching, and press brake forming.
  • Experience creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs and nesting layouts.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of tooling, bend allowances, grain direction, and material behavior.
  • Experience with Amada (ABE) programming software or similar systems.
  • CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for job routing and production control.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements to production personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication equipment such as lasers, turrets, and press brakes.
  • Develop nesting strategies to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
  • Select tooling, cut paths, bend sequences, and machine parameters for efficient production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming-related production issues.
  • Define operation sequences, setup requirements, and production strategies.
  • Ensure alignment between designs and manufacturing execution.
  • Review drawings to determine efficient manufacturing methods.
  • Generate and maintain production documentation (setup sheets, work instructions).
  • Release jobs accurately to production and provide technical guidance to staff.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Estimating, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
  • Suggest manufacturability improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in smooth transitions from quoting/engineering to production.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce setup and cycle times and improve throughput.
  • Standardize programming methods and lean manufacturing best practices.

Location: Hudson, NH Schedule: 1st Shift Position Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time Pay: $28.00 – $35.00/hour A growing precision sheet metal manufacturing company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Sheet Metal Programmer to join its team on 1st shift. This position plays a critical role in transforming engineered designs into efficient, production-ready programs and process plans that drive quality, productivity, and manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience programming sheet metal fabrication equipment and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and production workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication equipment, including laser cutting systems, turret punches, and press brakes.
  • Develop efficient nesting strategies to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
  • Select appropriate tooling, cut paths, bend sequences, and machine parameters to support efficient production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming-related production issues. [li[/lili, bend sequences, and machinecess plans and job routings.
  • Define operation sequences, setup requirements, and production strategies.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering designs and manufacturing execution.

  • Ensure jobs are fully prepared and released accurately to production.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to production personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Estimating, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
  • Provide feedback on manufacturability improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Support smooth transitions from quoting and engineering through production.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce setup times, improve cycle times, and increase throughput.
  • Standardize programming methods and manufacturing best practices.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend improvements to tooling, workflows, and manufacturing processes.
Desired Background/Skills
