Job summary

Timken in Keene, New Hampshire is seeking a full-time machinist for 1st shift. Schedule: Mon-Thu 5:00am-3:00pm, with overtime on Fridays. Pay range: $27.00–$30.75 per hour. You will perform precision internal/external setups, select tooling, cycle machines, and ensure parts meet quality specs.

Qualifications

• Geometric dimensioning & tolerancing knowledge required.
• Ability to work in a team with mentoring and training skills.
• Good written and verbal communications.
• Ability to use and/or setup various measuring devices or gages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a wide range of precision internal/external setups.
• Maintain a setup proficiency in a minimum of one operation group on a specific set of machine(s).
• Work from part drawings, process sequence sheets and setup charts.
• Select proper tooling, mount, dress and/or true grinding wheels where appropriate.
• Cycle machine to produce test pieces, check parts and make machine adjustments as necessary.
• Inspect components to ensure proper adherence to quality specifications.
• Gage components using applicable gaging techniques and procedures, check gages for proper calibration.
• Visually sample pieces for finish and surface quality.
• Instruct and lend technical assistance to and maintain responsibility for work of assigned operator if applicable.
• Schedule work to due dates while maintaining efficiency.
• Maintain and comply with preventive maintenance schedule, safety protocols and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Operationally ensure SPC compliance and maintain a quality standard.
• Report operating difficulties to supervisor; maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Maintain and comply with process documentation.
