Job summary

Hanwha Materials Savannah LLC in Houston, TX, is seeking a Saw Operator to run heavy-duty band or circular saws, cutting billets up to 46 inches in diameter to precise weights and lengths, coordinating with maintenance and plant leadership to ensure safety and productive output.

You will work with cranes to load material, stamp and label heat and lot numbers, monitor tooling and coolant, and uphold 5S and lean manufacturing standards while meeting quality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or plant operations.
• Experience in metal working, forging or similar environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of production processes, maintenance and safety practices.
• Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing.
• Ability to read precision measurement tools and calculate material weights.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty band or circular saws to cut raw material up to 46 in diameter.
• Monitor performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Install correct blades, feed rates, blade speeds, and coolant for the alloy.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Operate overhead cranes to load billets and label pieces with heat/lot numbers.
• Maintain 5S, perform daily maintenance, and coordinate with maintenance for equipment reliability.
