Job summary

Lofton Staffing is seeking a Saw Operator / Material Handler for a 1st shift in Northwest Houston. This temp-to-hire role pays $21–$23 per hour and requires forklift experience, and ability to read blueprints and work instructions.

Set up and operate a saw to cut tubular steel per drawings, track inventory, and move materials across the facility. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a safe, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Saw Operator, Band Saw Operator, Material Handler, Forklift Operator, Machine Operator, or Manufacturing Associate.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, production, or machine shop environment preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate production and material inventory records.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a saw to accurately cut tubular steel according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
• Read and interpret work orders, verbal instructions, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
• Measure, cut, and track tubular steel.
• Maintain accurate records of cut materials and remaining steel inventory by outside diameter and length.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and organize materials throughout the facility.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and load and unload trucks.
• Move materials between storage, production, and work areas.
• Count, weigh, label, tag, and record materials handled.
• Use lifting equipment and power hoists to safely move materials.
• Bundle and band materials as needed.
• Assist machine operators and operate other equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.

Saw Operator / Material Handler – 1st Shift | $21–$23/hr | NW Houston

Lofton Staffing is hiring a Saw Operator / Material Handler for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Northwest Houston. This is a 1st shift position paying $21–$23 per hour, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating a saw in a manufacturing or machine shop environment, handling steel or other industrial materials, and operating a forklift.

Job Responsibilities

Set up and operate a saw to accurately cut tubular steel according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
